"Founding member" gets thrown around a lot. Usually it means a discount you won't remember a year from now. We're using the phrase because we mean something specific by it, and the people who join the waitlist deserve to know exactly what it is.

What you actually get

  1. You're locked in. Your name goes on the list from day one. When the app opens up in a new neighbourhood, your account is already there.
  2. Priority on city expansion. When we choose where to open next, waitlist density is one of the inputs we weight most. Tell your friends to join and you're pulling your area up the queue.
  3. Early access to new categories. Events, ticketed nights, partner restaurants, all roll out to founding members first.
  4. A direct line to the team. Every founding member email gets a real response from a person on the team during pilot. Tell us what's broken and what's missing.
"We'll remember your support. Sign up now and your name goes on the list from day one."

Why we're treating launch differently

Most launches treat the first thousand sign ups like a marketing list. We're treating them like a small council. Your reactions shape which categories ship first, which features we sand down, which venues we chase.

That's only possible at a certain scale. Once we're past the pilot, we'll still listen, but the relationship gets a lot more one-to-many. The founding window is the bit where it's still one-to-one.

What we ask of you

Honestly, not much. The most useful thing you can do is use the app in your real life, tell us when a deal didn't work, and let us know which venue you wish was on it. That's the input that moves the product.

If you want to do more, the second most useful thing is sending the waitlist link to a friend in a neighbouring city. The geography of expansion is decided by demand.

Not on the list yet? Take 30 seconds and join the waitlist. You'll get your launch invite the moment BlackBoard opens in your area.

What happens after launch

When we open up in your city, founding members get an invite email a few days before general access. You'll have the app, your deals and your saved venues ready to go before everyone else is even let in. That's the headline.

Beyond that, we'll keep these field notes coming. The decisions we make about what to ship next will land here first, so the people who got us off the ground get to see the reasoning rather than the press release.
